To give an idea of the scale, if we consider the known universe with its clusters of galaxies and what we call the observable universe, the Quantum Mechanics world is as small as this is big. This is the definition from Wikipedia. (Very) Long story short, this is the world of the infinitely small. "Quantum mechanics (QM also known as quantum physics, or quantum theory) is a fundamental branch of physics which describes physical phenomena at scales typical of the quantum realm of atomic and subatomic length scales, where the action is on the order of the Planck constant." Brace yourself.įirstly we need to define Quantum Mechanics. This is based on so many assumptions, that almost every few months, new proofs and experiments shows how little we know and really understand of this scale. Indeed, this is literally alien territory and only mathematics, or well-formatted logic, allow us to have a view of this strange world. The fact is that we are moving beyond our reality, and it hence becomes impossible for us to actually fully grasp the mechanisms at work. I was a little bit reassured when I quickly found out that nobody really understands Quantum Physics, not even the experts. When I first dived into the world of Quantum Physics (aka Quantum Mechanics), I felt lost. ![]() Please, if this is the case feel free to contact me to correct me. This is one of the most complex subjects I have ever looked into, and it is quite a possibility that even if I try to backup my claims with reliable sources and full understanding, I might write some BS. Firstly, I am not an expert in the field. This part aims to give the reader a first glance at what is Quantum Physics and what are the main effects of interests in communication and computing. ![]()
